well it does sorta hurt to hear that things were scripted, pre-bought, and pre-arranged. but isn’t that what you do for tv? i do ABSOLUTELY love this show. i have even gone as far as to try to find all the episodes on dvd (which does not exist). if i could find them i will watch them over and over and over. due to the fact i don’t have an interior designer bone in my body. but still…..$1000 is not a lot of money to make a room look great. i’m sure the room did look really good but it was just not your taste. which is ok. what was the name of the episode? i will try to go on youtube and find it.

OhmyGod! I am completely DEVASTATED by this expose! I have long been a fan of Free Style thinking how nice it is that, finally, a show that shows little to no cost decorating tips.

[As opposed to every other show i.e., "Gee...should I sell my 2.2 million dollar house for a 5 million dollar house? Golly, I'm just not sure. Maybe I'll just buy a Hummer instead.]

I’ll have to say, I have always been a little surprised at how the shows subjects do always seem to JUST HAPPEN to have that perfect accessory in their bedroom/bathroom/hall closet/garage/cellar.

I’d like to say it’s enough to make me swear off HGTV all together, but I’m a ho and HGTV is my crack. At least I’ll be a sadder, wiser watcher.

Right now we are contemplating painting the upper half of the bonus room in team colors (one team per wall) while the lower half remains green. But with hash-marks aka football field. I’m thinking, nah. Too much darn taping.

Thanks, that’s a photo of the living room in the townhouse I used to own.

I took digital pictures after the professional stager hired by my RE broker had worked it over, and I’d listed the house for sale. To create the picture posted here, I just tweaked the photo using a plugin for Paint Shop Pro called Virtual Painter.

My home improvement skills are mostly limited to painting, a little demo, and figuring out who to call to do everything else. And writing checks.

Did you do the photo illustration at the top of the page? I love it; I really do. I like those home shows, but I always sit there thinking – wow, great idea. I’d do that if I didn’t have to get on a ladder. LOL!
