While Gerald and Julie Kulesza (see below) have been basking in their victim-of-the-week turns on national TV shows, the public has rallied behind AirTran: 92 percent of the emails and phone calls flooding in to the company have been supportive of the flight crew’s decision to take the clueless parents and their out-of-control loinfruit off the flight. Full story below the fold.

Heads happily stuffed up their rears, the Kuleszas just couldn’t wait to whine in public about their travails at the hands of the big bad airlines.

But a funny thing happened on the way to their martyrdom:  most members of the audience saw through the act.   I just love it when that happens. (more…)

More results of bad parenting

It’s not limited to the media ”victims of the week” – Julie Kulesza and Gerald Kulesza (see below).    The PhilosophicaLawyer has posted another wonderful letter to a client about the consequences of certain behavior.  Just go read it.

By now I guess you’ve heard or read about Elly Kulesza. She is the 3-year-old girl who, along with her parents Julie Kulesza and Gerald (Gerry) Kulesza, was escorted off an AirTran flight. The Kulesza family has starred in a lot of news coverage, including an appearance on ABC.

OAKLAND — An Oakland family’s German Shepherd could lose a leg after being shot by a robber Wednesday.

Buffy, a usually docile 100-pound dog, was shot once in her upper front left leg while trying to defend her owner, Will Bartley, outside his East Oakland home. He was not injured.

The rest is below the fold. (more…)

On this date 30 years ago I moved to Colorado.

On this date 20 years ago the Denver Broncos won a big NFL playoff game against the Cleveland Browns, in Cleveland: Elway and The Drive.

On this date last year, my little old dog Dusty died.

I’ve never regretted moving to Colorado.

I’ve had phases of following the Broncos and even going to the games.

I still miss Dusty a lot.

Today I have a routine appointment at the dentist, followed by a routine day at work (I hope it’s just routine). And I have 49 days left until retirement from this job.

But the blog doesn’t.   The management apologizes to those (two or three) kind souls who browse by here now and then, for the lack of new content lately.

The proprietor has been otherwise occupied.  With her job.  And her life.  Moving up to a big life change.  Living and working through a couple of big bad holiday blizzards.

Things are fine.  I’m just not here much.  I’ll be back.
